CASE STUDY - Pit Infill & Loading Bay Install

Our surveyors went to site with the client specification to install a ramp within the existing pit. Our wealth of experience and technical expertise identified the perfect solution for our client creating more warehouse space utilising existing equipment and creating the most efficient unloading solution.Our surveyor engaged with our in house design team and came up with the below design.


The design concept involved a full concrete pit infill, installation of a swing lip dock leveller, installation of a retractable dock shelter, dock buffers/dock bumpers, dock traffic light and wheel alignment guides. Upon review with the client the concept was agreed and our technical team started to develop the design concept.


Our industry leading team of Dockters completed the installation of a swing lip dock leveller, installation of a retractable dock shelter, dock buffers/dock bumpers, dock traffic light and wheel alignment guides.


Below details the site of the pit that required infill and the location for installation of the telescopic lip dock leveller and control equipment for the dock leveller.


To provide optimum installation and turn around to make the loading bay for the client - our design team installed a cast in swing lip dock leveller mounted within a pour in dock leveller frame.


The concrete pour was commissioned and the dock leveller. The sectional door was recommissioned to level on the dock edge.

The installation of a swing lip dock leveller, installation of a retractable dock shelter, dock buffers/dock bumpers, dock traffic light and wheel alignment guides was to specification and provided the perfect solution for the client.

DT-SLDL - SWING LIP DOCK LEVELLER


Product Description

The varying heights of trucks and loading bays give dock levellers a vital role in loading and unloading vehicles, the Dock Technik swing lip dock leveller is the perfect design for most scenarios. The bed raises with the press of one button and when It reaches its highest point the lip folds out, it Is then lowered onto the back of the vehicle to form a solid bridge between building and vehicle to begin loading/unloading. The structure is manufactured to a high specification for reliability and the electro/hydraulic system is engineered with regular use in a demanding environment in mind. Our dock levellers comply with BS EN 1398 which specifies the safety requirements for design, construction, installation, maintenance and testing of dock levellers and for safety components on dock levellers.

DT-RDS - RETRACTABLE DOCK SHELTER


The Dock Technik retractable dock shelter (DT-RDS) is extremely robust and durable, with its galvanized steel frame and cantilever arms. The retractable dock shelter has been designed to compress in the event of accidental impact.

The front and head curtains of the retractable dock shelter are manufactured using nylon reinforced PVC with the option of a parking guide to aid vehicle alignment onto the loading bay. The front and head curtain are flashed with aluminium and the roof and sides are completed in a heavy duty, waterproof PVC.

The retractable dock shelter is very versatile and using our experience we can ensure it is tailored to maximise its qualities based on your fleet size and building design. The DT-RDS retractable dock shelter is able to improve hygiene and energy efficiency through its seal whilst also shielding product and personnel from the elements.

DT-WAG - WHEEL ALIGNMENT GUIDES


Wheel alignment guides are designed to guide the vehicle onto the loading bay in a safe and controlled manner. Having the correct wheel alignment guides will help protect any loading dock covering you may have and also guide the vehicle onto the loading bay centrally and squarely which is safety critical when using a dock leveller or lifting table.

Our Dock Technik wheel alignment guides come in a variety of options to suit all loading bay environments. As standard they are galvanised and then powder coated yellow for maximum corrosion protection and visibility.
