One of our customers in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire had some dock buffers that had come away from the wall leaving the dock edge exposed to impact damage. The rubber buffers installed are not correct for the vehicles using the bays so they are taking more damage than they should be and they are not offering the required level of protection for the dock shelter. Although these dock buffers have dock buffer steel cover plates installed and are bolted through onto dock buffer steel back plates they can still be pulled off the wall with enough force in the wrong area.
One team were able to carry out minor concrete repairs and re-fix the existing dock buffers as a temporary measure but new dock bumpers have been quoted.
